Geriatric care managers are such a helpful resource for people who can’t be on the scene with their senior for whatever reason. I worked with one a few years ago during a friend’s topsy-turvey healthcare nightmare. They help take the emotion and angst out of the equation when it comes to medical needs, care and even aligning other professionals. I plan on hiring one when my wheels start getting wobbly — maybe even earlier for a consult and some guidance, why not? It’s another layer of expense, but may be well worth it to ensure my loved ones aren’t wrecking their lives over my geri-drama. #GrandPlans
