How can I mitigate panic?

One of the big thoughts I want to carry forth into my golden years is “how can I mitigate panic?” I want to prepare and manage my-geriself in such a way that my uh-oh moments are containable and that I’ve given thought to contingency planning — for allllll the essentials. When I have my Exxon Valdez disaster, I want some back-up hulls and gunk-suckers to up-appear so I don’t cause a gigantic muck spill in my people’s lives. In one eldercare situation close to me, there was a panic alert literally every single day, for months and months and months. It was critical spillage, constantly. I have PTSD from it, no joke. I know moving from emergency to emergency is part of the experience with eldercare. But there has to be a way to plan for it, even just a little bit. At the very least, I want to remember it’s not me at the helm navigating, it’s someone I love. #GrandPlans
