BREAKING NEWS: My TEDx Talk is Out!

I am writing you with some exciting news and a plea for help — my TEDx talk, “Aging Isn’t a Crisis. It’s a Design Challenge We’re Ignoring,” just dropped on the TEDx Talk YouTube page! OMG! So, all the relentless (and probably annoying) mindful aging advocacy I’ve been yoo-hoo-ing about from my little corner of the social media interwebs during the past four years finally has earned the potential of finding a much wider, more global-centric audience. Thanks to the TEDx platform, the message of designing life’s second half of life with intention is well positioned to reach more aging people who need to hear it — that’s all of us, folks!

Your help, however, is needed to maximize this important reach. Early response to the video has been thoughtful and encouraging, but to get it in front of more people, TEDx needs to see “the math”. “They” are looking for certain trends and statistics (and stuff I do not understand at all whatsoever) to occur during a talk video’s first 48 hours.

Here’s how you can help make a math difference for my TEDx talk in the first 48 hours:

1. Watch it all the way through (I know, boring, but it is important!)

2. Comment on it

3. Like it

4. Share it — text, email, or even a quick post on your social channels. (I included an image above you are welcome to right click save and use) This really is something MOST of us need to hear, share the link with your people! I guarantee people will appreciate it, even if they don’t act like it. Get the real talk flowing!

That’s it. Simple, but it really matters.

If the message resonates, I hope it sparks one small conversation — because that’s where better outcomes begin. If you’re curious to go a step further: Visit mygrandplans.com and take the GeriDrama Risk Score — a quick snapshot of how prepared you are, with one simple action you can take now. Or explore more about Mindful Aging and the core steps of building a solid plan for the second half of life. I am teaching several classes upcoming at the St. John’s Cathedral in downtown Jacksonville through the Episcopal Diocese of Florida’s Bishop’s Institute and the St. John’s Cathedral’s Center for Wellbeing. Information on those classes is below.

Lastly, if you are part of a group or organization that needs to hear this message, I am available to share this talk again in a more curated, intimate format. I’d love to meet with your people and real talk about mindful aging strategies!

Thanks again for your support!
